Annamarie Guest is currently in her junior year as an Art and English double major at Furman University. Growing up in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, she takes inspiration from the water and the transient progression of cycles in nature that parallel emotional cycles within the self. “Printmaking is becoming a lost art form due to our fast-paced world,” she says, “the detail of printmaking leads artists to explore ideas about themselves that otherwise might remain a mystery.” Her latest works include a photojournalism series exploring the tourism industry in Myrtle Beach, as well as a collection of paintings that examine the parameters that define being a young adult woman in the 21st century.
